Each Barkbuddy unit works at up to 10–15 metres in open areas. Indoors, walls and furniture naturally reduce this, so think of each device as covering one room or zone.
- 1 unit = 1x 15 m zone (≈ one room)
- 2 units = 2x 15m zones (≈ two areas)
- 3 units = 3x 15m zones (≈ full-home)

BARKBUDDY USER GUIDE
Barkbuddy is your key to a more peaceful environment. Designed for hassle-free automatic operation, Barkbuddy is quick and easy to set up so you can begin effective training without delay.
Charging
Charging the device takes approximately 3-5 hours. Once fully charged, the device can operate for 5-30 days (depending on usage).
During charging, the RED LIGHT being on means the Barkbuddy is charging, and the BLUE LIGHT being on means the device is fully charged.
Frequency Settings
Barkbuddy has 3 frequency settings. Please select your ideal frequency using the information below:
- 15kHz/30kHz: Suitable for medium/large naughty or loud dogs
- 20kHz: Suitable for medium-large docile/calm dogs
- 30kHz: Suitable for smaller dogs
All dogs are unique, therefore you may have to test a few settings to find what works best for you and your pup!
LED Indicators
Barkbuddy has a small display LED light.
When turned on, the device light will flash blue every 6 seconds to indicate that it is operational.
The light will turn red and display for 3 seconds when a dog bark has been detected and the ultrasound is being emitted.
The light will flash red when the unit is low on charge.
Range & Mounting
Barkbuddy has a range of 10-15 metres and can be used indoors and outdoors. The device can be set on a shelf/table or hung on a wall.
When mounted on an elevated surface, ensure the device is no more than 60cm off the ground. Also ensure that there are no physical obstructions between the device and your dog. Failure to follow these two steps may interfere with the device's correct operation.
Important Usage Information
Barkbuddy is intended to be used in a stationary fashion situated around a property, not as a handheld measure (e.g. on walks) and not in any environment where harsh noise could interfere with its correct operation (e.g. in a car).
Barkbuddy is a training aid that should be used in conjunction with a comprehensive training plan that includes positive reinforcement techniques, environmental adjustments, mental and physical stimulation, and the building of trust.
